Designed by an experienced Social Worker, Mentor Mate supports young men — especially those from out-of-home care — with evidence-based, trauma-informed guidance to build skills, manage emotions, and develop positive life routines.
The Mentor Mate Program was developed by a Social Worker with more than nine years' experience supporting young men transitioning from out-of-home care. We focus on meeting participants where they are and equipping them with practical skills to manage stress, cope with frustration, and make positive choices.
Every mentor is trained in trauma-informed practice and works under clinical supervision to ensure safe, strengths-based support.
We use real-world activities (sports, fishing, and life‑skills tasks) to build confidence and teach coping strategies.
